What is a grand trine?
Three planets spaced evenly around the chart, each a trine (120°) from the other two, so they form an equilateral triangle, usually in signs of one element. The tradition reads it as ease and natural talent in that element: a gift so fluent it can be leaned on without effort, and sometimes taken for granted.
Where astrologers disagree
The orb allowed, and whether the three must all be in one element, are conventions. Here a grand trine is simply three trines the chart already shows, between planets, with the nodes and angles left out.
