What OrbHeaven is

OrbHeaven works out what is coming for your chart, to the day. You bring it a real question. It comes back on the date and asks how it went. And it remembers what you said, so that over months the record of your own answers starts to say something no horoscope could.

That last part is the whole point, and it is the thing almost nothing else in this category does. A reading is a moment. A record is a relationship.

Three kinds of thing

Everything in here is one of three, and the menu is grouped that way on purpose, because how a thing was decided is what tells you how much weight to give it.

• Your record. What you asked, and what you said happened.
• Calculated. Worked out from your birth details. Nothing here is guessed.
• Drawn. Chosen by chance, honestly, and it says so.

The chart, the timeline and the numerology are arithmetic: you can check them. The cards and the runes are chance, and the app uses a cryptographically secure shuffle and says so. What you told it is yours. Nothing in the third kind is ever invented, and nothing in the second is ever chosen to flatter you.

What it is not

It does not predict. Astrology and tarot are frameworks for reflection, not methods of knowing the future, and every page here says so. Vesper, the advisor, has a point of view and will tell you what she sees, but she describes conditions and tensions, never outcomes, and she is not a substitute for a doctor, a lawyer, a therapist or an accountant.

It does not sell your data, show you advertising, or use what you have told it for anything except answering you better. The privacy page says exactly what is stored and why, in plain words, including the one thing it cannot yet do for you.

Who made it

I have spent twenty years building software as a service, most recently vetabid, a company serving property managers and the vendors who work with them. OrbHeaven is the first one I built for something I actually do.

I am not a professional astrologer. It has been a hobby for more than forty years, since I got my first telescope as a kid and asked my dad about all the stars. I use it most days, for thinking a decision through and for meditation, and it never sat right with me that an app should be telling me my day is doomed.

So this is the one I wanted: it shows its working, it asks how it went, and it keeps what you said. I would like it to get better from what enthusiasts actually tell me they need. If that is you, write to me.

How the arithmetic is done

Positions come from a published astronomical engine, not from tables copied out of a book, and the chart is cast for the birthplace’s historic time zone, which is where most free chart sites go wrong. The timeline samples the sky day by day and reports the dates it finds. The numerology page shows every sum. If you ever find a number here that does not check, that is a bug, and we want to hear about it.
