What is the IC, or Imum Coeli?
The degree of the zodiac exactly opposite the Midheaven, at the other crossing of the zodiac and the meridian. It is usually below the horizon, though at high latitudes it can be above it. In OrbHeaven’s Placidus charts it is the cusp of the 4th house; where whole-sign houses are used instead, it falls within a house rather than on a cusp. It is read as home, roots and private life. IC is short for imum coeli, Latin for the bottom of the sky.
