What are the elements in astrology?
The twelve signs sort into four groups of three: fire (Aries, Leo, Sagittarius), earth (Taurus, Virgo, Capricorn), air (Gemini, Libra, Aquarius) and water (Cancer, Scorpio, Pisces). Fire acts, earth builds, air thinks, water feels; it is a shorthand for temperament. Counting how many of your planets fall in each is the quickest sketch of a chart.
