What are the signs of the zodiac?
The twelve thirty-degree slices of the sky’s circle, named for the constellations that sat behind them two thousand years ago. A sign describes the style of a planet: the same Mars pushes differently in Aries than in Pisces. The signs are not the stars; see the note on the tropical zodiac.
