What are houses in astrology?
The twelve areas of life, counted anticlockwise from the eastern horizon at your birth: the 1st is you, the 4th is home, the 7th is partnership, the 10th is your work in the world, and so on. A planet’s sign says how it acts; its house says where in your life it acts. Houses need a birth time, because the horizon moves through the whole zodiac every day.
